Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council's Adult Education in Gloucestershire invites applications for enthusiastic tutors to deliver high-quality learning programmes in community settings across the county. Five vacancies exist: 2 posts at 11.1 hours per week and 3 posts at 8 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements available.

You’ll design learner-centred courses, assess progress, embed English, maths and digital skills, and support adults with diverse needs toward their next steps.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent teaching qualification/experience. Applicants who do not currently hold a teaching qualification must be willing to work towards one within an agreed timeframe and self-fund the qualification.
• Minimum 1 year teaching experience
• Level 2 English and maths
• Competent use of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Emails and Calendar management.
• Confidence or willingness to learn usage of Learner Management Systems
• Willingness to upskill in other areas of delivery
• Due to the nature of the role you must be able to drive across the county and have access to your own vehicle.

Our learners include unemployed adults, adults returning to learning, adults with disabilities, ESOL learners, Parents and Carers and individuals facing a range of social and economic barriers. We're looking for an enthusiastic Tutor to deliver one or more of the following courses:

• High-quality employability: CV writing, Interview Skills, Job Searching and Matching, Application Forms, IAG.

• Personal and social development: Confidence Building, Building Effective Routines, Goal Setting, Building Effective Relationships, Wellbeing for Work

• Sector Specific: Catering, Cleaning, Hospitality, Retail, Health and Safety, Health and Social Care.

• Cookery, Healthy Eating, Budgeting and Nutrition

• Digital Skills courses e.g. AI, Social Media, Microsoft Office, Emails etc.

• Wellbeing courses e.g. Mental Health Awareness, Mindfulness and Meditation, Breathwork, Wellbeing Toolkit, Personal Resilience, Ayurveda, chakras

• Family Learning courses (with experience working with children, families or primary education): Understanding your neurodiverse child, Support your Child with Maths/English, Wellbeing for Families.

• You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality learning programmes that make a real difference across our county and to people's lives.
