Job description
Frontend Developer Vue / AI

Hybrid, one day a week in London

At Standard 8, we get asked to help with all sorts of roles, but every so often something lands on the desk that feels genuinely interesting rather than the usual copy-and-paste job spec.

This one comes from a fast-growing AI outfit that’s actually got traction rather than just LinkedIn hype. They’re rolling out serious deployments and they’ve got the kind of investor names that usually mean someone’s done their homework.

The team is small, sharp, and unapologetically fast. Engineers aren’t hidden behind layers of process, they’re front and centre, shaping the product and leaving fingerprints everywhere.

If you prefer to tinker quietly in the corner, this won’t be your tribe.

What they need

A frontend engineer who enjoys owning things properly, not just the fun bits. Someone who likes turning messy ideas into clean interfaces and who has opinions on architecture, but not in the unbearable way.

If you’ve used Vue before, great. If you’ve used React, Svelte or anything component-based, also great. They care more about how you think than which framework logo you’ve memorised.

You’ll be mainly focused on frontend, though if you’ve got full-stack chops they won’t complain.

What you’ll actually be doing
  • Taking features from idea to reality
  • Owning parts of the frontend codebase
  • Working with product, design and backend to turn Figma into something users don’t hate
  • Improving performance, accessibility, testing and general engineering hygiene
What you’ll bring
  • Solid Frontend Dev skills
  • Confident with TypeScript or modern JavaScript
  • Good instinct for UX, not just code purity
  • Comfortable working mostly independently without disappearing
Nice-to-haves
  • Vue 3 experience
  • Exposure to design systems or component libraries
  • Performance and accessibility tuning
  • Experience with dashboards or complex UIs
  • Previous time in a startup or scale-up
Why it’s worth a look
  • You’ll have real impact on a product used by thousands
  • There’s genuine ownership without the usual startup chaos
  • They’re solving a worthwhile problem in AI adoption
