Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with Node.js/TypeScript frontend development in a public sector or regulated environment.
• Experience writing tests with Jest or Mocha.
• Experience building with Express or Fastify and RESTful/microservice APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases and caching with Redis.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility and GDS service patterns.
• Experience collaborating in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with GOV.UK Frontend and Design System in live services.
• Mentoring other developers is a plus.

• Ensure services meet WCAG accessibility standards, and test with assistive technology.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and deploy services on AWS and Azure.
• Review code, share good practice and support colleagues.
• Collaborate with designers, researchers, content designers and delivery teams to deliver iteratively.
