Job summary

MRJ Recruitment Limited is seeking a Frontend Developer for an onsite role in Manchester. You will join a growing, technology-led engineering team and influence technical decisions while shaping ways of working as the team develops.

You will develop features for web applications, craft responsive frontend experiences, and ensure code quality through tests and TDD. The position is office-based in Manchester with opportunities to impact product direction and engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in frontend development.
• Strong React experience including Hooks, Context and React Query.
• Experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Good knowledge of Git and version control.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD and deployment.
• Strong focus on testing, code quality and TDD.

Frontend Developer | Manchester (Office-based / Onsite) | Up to £55,000

We're working with a growing, technology-led business looking to bring a Frontend Developer into its expanding engineering team.

This is an opportunity to join a newly formed, cross-functional team where you'll have the chance to influence technical decisions, contribute to best practices and help shape the way the team works as it continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhancements for existing web applications.
• Build and maintain modern, responsive frontend experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable code supported by unit tests.
• Apply TDD, BDD and end-to-end testing practices where appropriate.
• Investigate technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts and wider stakeholders.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, tools and ways of working.
• Share knowledge and contribute to a positive engineering culture.

Skills and experience

• At least 2 years' experience in Frontend Development.
• Strong experience with modern React development, including Hooks, Context and React Query.
• Experience integrating with third-party REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Good knowledge of Git and version control.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD and continuous deployment.
• A strong appreciation for testing, code quality and TDD.
• Good communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills.

This is a fully onsite position based in Manchester, so you'll need to be comfortable working from the office.
