Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is recruiting a Front End Developer for a hybrid role in London. You will design, develop and maintain front-end applications using Angular/React/Vue, emphasize modular, reusable components and robust state management with NgRx.

You will implement reactive programming with RxJS, write comprehensive tests (Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Cypress) and optimize performance. Collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders is essential to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on enterprise front-end development with Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of component-based architecture and reusable patterns.
• Experience with NgRx state management (Store, Effects, Selectors).
• Proficient in RxJS and reactive programming concepts.
• Experience with Angular CLI, Webpack, npm and automation tooling.
• Proven experience writing/maintaining unit and integration tests (Jasmine, Karma, Jest) and Cypress for end-to-end tests.
• Experience in Agile teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Git/Bitbucket version control experience.
• Knowledge of GraphQL API integration and web accessibility (WCAG).
• Familiar with CI/CD, DevOps practices, cloud environments, and security best practices.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure secure, reliable, maintainable production software.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide third-line production support.
• Promote engineering excellence via code reviews and best practices.

The Role:

Your responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain modern, scalable front-end applications using Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Build reusable, modular, and component-based user interfaces in line with established engineering standards and design principles.
• Implement and manage application state using NgRx, Redux, or equivalent state management solutions.
• Develop reactive and asynchronous application workflows using RxJS and related reactive programming libraries.
• Create and maintain robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Jest, or Cypress.
• Optimize application performance through techniques such as lazy loading, Ahead-of-Time (AOT) compilation, code splitting, and performance profiling.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, Architects, Quality Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, story refinement, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design intuitive, accessible, and user-centred interfaces, working closely with users to gather feedback and ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
• Ensure the software delivered is secure, reliable, maintainable, and easy to support in production.
• Participate in the on-call rota and provide third-line production support when required.
• Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to agreed development standards and best practices.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Angular and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of component-based architecture, reusable design patterns, and modern front-end development practices.
• Extensive experience implementing application state management using NgRx, including Store, Effects, and Selectors.
• Strong proficiency in RxJS and reactive programming concepts, including Observables, Subjects, operators, and asynchronous data handling.
• Experience with modern front-end tooling and build systems, including Angular CLI, Webpack, npm, and related automation tools.
• Proven experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using Jasmine, Karma, or equivalent testing frameworks.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaboration platforms, including Git and Bitbucket.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cypress.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards, including WCAG, and inclusive design principles.
• Experience with application performance monitoring, profiling, and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to micro-frontend architectures and modern front-end design patterns.
• Understanding of secure coding principles and front-end security best practices.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
