Job summary

CGI Group Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Front End Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance modern web applications within collaborative Agile teams.

You will translate user requirements into responsive, accessible solutions while partnering with UX designers, back-end engineers, and product teams. You’ll influence technical decisions, champion engineering best practices, and contribute to evolving CGI’s front-end capability in a hybrid London-area setting.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing modern front-end applications within Agile delivery teams.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript, and TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and ensuring accessibility and security best practices.

About the role

In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance modern front-end applications that deliver seamless digital experiences for our clients. Working as part of collaborative Agile teams, you'll translate user and business requirements into responsive, accessible, and scalable solutions while partnering closely with UX designers, back-end engineers, product teams, and stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, champion engineering best practices, and contribute to the continual evolution of our front-end capability. You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your work, share ideas that improve delivery, and help foster a collaborative engineering culture where quality, innovation, and continuous improvement are valued. Your contributions will directly support the successful delivery of impactful digital services across a range of client engagements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• You will have strong commercial experience developing modern front-end applications and a passion for creating intuitive, high-quality digital experiences. You'll be comfortable working within Agile delivery teams, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, and applying modern engineering practices to build scalable, secure, and accessible web solutions. A continuous learning mindset and commitment to engineering excellence will help you succeed in this role.
• Strong commercial experience with HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Proven expertise in at least one modern framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design and web performance optimisation.
• Experience using Git for source control and collaborative development.
• Knowledge of browser developer tools for debugging and optimisation.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) standards and secure development practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
