Job summary

Free-Work UK is seeking an experienced Front End Developer to support a major Public Sector digital programme in London. You will design, develop and improve accessible, user-centred services using Vue.js and/or React, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Main responsibilities include building reusable components, ensuring accessibility, and contributing to frontend engineering standards within an Agile delivery context.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend development experience with Vue.js and/or React.
• Solid understanding of modern frontend-development principles and web standards.
• Experience building accessible, usable interfaces for diverse users.
• Experience applying accessibility standards throughout design and development.
• Experience testing frontend applications and user interfaces.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile teams.
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced developers.

Responsibilities

• Develop frontend software components that form part of wider digital products and services.
• Build modern, maintainable user interfaces using Vue.js and/or React.
• Write clean, well-tested code following modern web standards.
• Collaborate with designers, researchers and engineers to deliver user-centred solutions.
• Champion accessibility throughout the development lifecycle and testing.
• Coach, mentor and support junior developers in the team.
• Participate in Agile delivery and continuous improvement practices.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
