Job summary

Validus Risk Management Limited is seeking a talented front-end engineer to enhance our React-based web applications and contribute to a modern, AI-assisted development workflow. You will work within a fintech-focused tech team, delivering features across trading, risk, and portfolio applications with a strong emphasis on UI/UX and performance.

You will collaborate with quants, back-end, and platform engineers in a fast-paced agile environment, using Nx/Vite, Zustand, and TanStack tools to build

Qualifications

• Strong TypeScript knowledge and React expertise.
• Experience with state management libraries (Zustand).
• Experience with REST API contracts and OpenAPI.
• Experience with automated testing (Vitest, Playwright).
• Experience with CSS and UI styling.
• Familiarity with Nx and Vite monorepos.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new features to a high standard with meaningful test coverage for Validus applications including the order management system and the risk management system.
• Collaborate with other teams on features spanning multiple parts of the stack.
• Provide useful, thorough code reviews and pair with others across the team.
• Look to improve UI and UX across our product range to maintain design consistency.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, estimation, and retrospectives.
• Lay technical foundations for real-time communication between back-end and front-end using WebSockets.
