Freight Supervisor - Heathrow - Up to £45,000

Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder are currently seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to oversee day-to-day ocean import operations, managing shipments from arrival through final delivery. The role involves supervising a small team, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations, and maintaining high standards of service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Job type : Permanent

Shifts : Monday to Friday

Salary : Up to £45,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all ocean import operations from origin to delivery.
  • Oversee documentation processes, including bills of lading, customs entries, and delivery orders.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance and release of shipments.
  • Liaise daily with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers.
  • Allocate workloads, monitor team performance, and provide coaching and support to staff.
  • Resolve any shipment delays, discrepancies, or service failures effectively.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, ensuring invoicing accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with HMRC, CDS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Produce regular performance and KPI reports for management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
