Freight Forwarding Operator

Weybridge, Surrey

Up to £38,000 per annum (DOE)

Monday to Friday, 9 : 00am – 5 : 30pm (Office based)

We’re delighted to be working in partnership with a leading multi modal freight forwarding company that’s continuing to expand its operations department. Based in the Weybridge area, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarding Operator to join a dynamic and supportive team that values professionalism, precision, and proactive service delivery.

The Role

In this role, you’ll play a key role within the company’s Operations team, managing and delivering all aspects of freight forwarding across air, sea, and road. You’ll ensure shipments are handled efficiently from start to finish providing exceptional customer service, maintaining compliance, and keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage export and import shipments end-to-end across air, sea, and road.
• Prepare and complete international shipping and customs documentation in line with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Handle billing and invoicing for both import and export consignments.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers, colleagues, and third-party partners throughout the shipment process.
• Ensure all movements comply with international trade regulations and company procedures.
• Monitor timelines and proactively address any issues or delays to ensure smooth delivery.

About You

Proven experience within freight forwarding operations (multi modal experience preferred).

Strong customs experience is essential.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
• A proactive self-starter with a hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach.
• Confident using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with CargoWise is an advantage.
• A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced logistics environment.
