Senior Freight Forwarder

Salary: Up to 40,000 (DOE)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

With operations spanning road, air, and ocean freight, they provide trusted, agile, and purpose-driven logistics services for some of the most demanding and sensitive supply chains in the world.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarder to take the lead in a pivotal, fast-paced operation. You'll manage end-to-end international shipments across air and road (and occasionally sea), ensuring seamless execution while driving the team to achieve success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage international freight movements via Air and Road (essential) and Sea
  • Plan routings, coordinate with carriers and partners, and oversee documentation accuracy
  • Oversee customs and insurance documentation, ensuring export control compliance
  • Maintain chain of custody for sensitive or classified consignments
  • Lead the use of the Forward Solutions TMS, developing smarter, more automated workflows
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or outsource services for maximum efficiency
  • Monitor costs, margins, and negotiate competitive rates
  • Coach and lead a small, high-performing Freight Forwarding team
What You'll Bring
  • 5-10 years proven experience working in a freight forwarding position in the UK for a freight forwarder
  • Proven ability managing time‑critical or secure shipments
  • Customs expertise, including UK Customs Declaration Service entries
  • Practical knowledge of Incoterms, export licensing, and trade compliance
  • Strong system skills, ideally with Forward Solutions or similar TMS, plus Excel proficiency
  • IATA or IMDG certification (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
