Freight Business Development Manager - Essex

We are collaborating with a freight forwarding and logistics company looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Essex. This position will be responsible for marketing air freight, sea freight, and road freight services, as well as generating new business possibilities and growing the company's client base. If you have a strong history in freight sales and worldwide logistics, this is an excellent opportunity for advancement within the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Generate new business leads through proactive outreach and networking.
  • Create new sales opportunities for air, sea, and road freight services.
  • Create and implement strategic company development plans to meet sales targets.
  • Qualify and close new business arrangements with potential clients.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with current clients and stakeholders.
  • Track market trends, competition activity, and industry changes.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and pricing structures for clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to increase profits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client shipments run smoothly.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade exhibitions, and networking activities.
  • Ensure correct sales records and reporting in CRM systems.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven sales experience in the freight forwarding business.
  • Proven track record of selling air, sea, and road freight services.
  • Extensive experience in global freight forwarding and international logistics.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and manages several accounts effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
