Job Description

Hello! I (Spencer Greenberg) am looking for a writer to work with who can put in 3-5 hours per week reliably nearly every week.

The role will involve:

• Turning the results of psychology studies we run into compelling articles or essays for a lay audience
• Interviewing me on subjects (e.g., ideas for essays) and writing an article or essay based on that interview (and potentially additional research to supplement the interview)
• Turning topics in the academic literature into compelling articles for a lay audience

All content we produce together must:

• Add value to the reader’s life
• Be compelling – e.g., pull the reader in right away and keep their attention
• Be well-reasoned
• Explain ideas very clearly
• Avoid academic jargon (when it’s unnecessary) and carefully define and explain (for a lay audience) technical terminology (when it’s important to include)
• Avoid making exaggerated claims and appropriately caveat uncertainty

For this work, you would be credited as a co-author of the work (i.e., you and I would both be listed as authors of the pieces produced).

This is a contractor-based role with a pay of $25 per hour. It is a remote role, and you can do it from anywhere in the world.

Most of the writing we do together would end up being used on our Clearer Thinking newsletter (which has 240,000 subscribers) so long as the Clearer Thinking team is satisfied with it.
