Job summary

Premium Linguistic Services (PLS) in Glasgow is seeking reliable Turkish interpreters fluent in English and Turkish to provide face-to-face interpreting services across Glasgow and surrounding areas.

This freelance role offers flexibility: self-employed, assignments offered based on client demand, with no guaranteed volume. You will work in healthcare, local authorities and other public services, maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Be fluent in English and the language you wish to interpret.
• Have strong listening and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to communicate information clearly and accurately.
• Understand the importance of confidentiality and impartiality.
• Be reliable, professional and punctual.
• Remain calm and focused in different situations.
• Be willing and able to travel locally for face-to-face assignments.
• Have the right to work in the UK, including permission to undertake self-employed work where applicable.
• Hold a valid DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one before undertaking assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, accurate, complete and impartial interpretation between speakers.
• Attend face-to-face interpreting assignments at agreed locations and times.
• Convey the meaning, tone and intent of each speaker faithfully, without adding, omitting or changing information.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and respect professional boundaries at all times.
• Remain neutral and communicate respectfully with everyone involved.
• Arrive on time, prepared and appropriately dressed for each assignment.
• Maintain professionalism, including when handling sensitive or challenging situations.

Are you fluent in English and Turkishand interested in using your language skills to help people communicate?

Premium Linguistic Services (PLS) is looking for reliable and confident bilingual individuals to provide face-to-face interpreting services in Glasgow and surrounding areas.

Whether you are an experienced interpreter or new to the profession, we welcome your application.

No formal interpreting qualification or previous interpreting experience is required.

As a Freelance Interpreter, you will help people overcome language barriers by facilitating clear, accurate and impartial communication.

You will attend face-to-face appointments in a variety of professional and community settings, including healthcare, local authorities and other public services.

This is a flexible, self-employed opportunity, allowing you to accept assignments based on your availability.

Please note that assignments are offered according to client demand, and a minimum volume of work cannot be guaranteed.
