Job summary

Fawkes & Reece are seeking a Site Manager to join a major civil engineering project in the UK. The role is freelance/contract with an immediate start, and you will be responsible for day-to-day site operations, delivering works safely, efficiently and to programme.

The ideal candidate will have proven site management experience in civil engineering or construction, strong leadership and communication skills, and SMSTS. Rail experience is advantageous but not essential, and PTS is not required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Manager on civil engineering/construction projects.
• Strong leadership and site-management skills.
• SMSTS certification required/preferred.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Rail project experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations to deliver works safely, on time and to programme.
• Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Liaise with client and stakeholders.
• Report progress to project team.
