Proofreader

We are seeking a skilled Proofreader with a strong scientific background and proven experience working with climate-related or technical reports.

The ideal candidate will have a meticulous eye for detail, excellent command of English, and the ability to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity in complex scientific documents.

This is an ad‑hoc, remote position, ideal for someone with flexible availability who enjoys working with content that contributes to climate awareness, environmental policy, and sustainability research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proofread and edit climate and environmental reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to organizational style and terminology.
  • Check grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and consistency across documents.
  • Review tables, figures, and citations for accuracy and consistency with references.
  • Work collaboratively with writers, researchers, and editors to refine scientific content without altering technical meaning.
  • Ensure the language aligns with the intended audience — from policymakers to technical experts.
  • Meet deadlines for project‑based assignments with a high degree of independence.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience proofreading or editing scientific or technical reports, particularly in climate change, sustainability, or environmental research.
  • Exceptional command of written English and strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with scientific terminology and data presentation conventions.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively for ad‑hoc assignments.
  • Experience with referencing styles (APA, Harvard, etc.) and document formatting tools (Word, PDF, etc.).
