Job summary

Buildforce Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Freelance Construction Planner to support a growing Midlands pipeline, covering pre-construction and delivery with tender programmes and logistics plans.

The role requires strong pre-construction and live project planning experience, proficiency in Asta Powerproject or Primavera, and collaborative work with estimators and project teams. Hybrid, Birmingham-based with an ongoing freelance contract. Outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner with a main contractor.
• Strong pre-construction/tender planning experience.
• Previous project delivery planning experience with live construction projects.
• Experience producing programmes using Asta Powerproject (Primavera P6 and MS Project experience also considered).
• A solid understanding of construction sequencing, logistics planning and project methodology.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across pre-construction and operational teams.

Freelance Construction Planner (Pre-Construction & Delivery)

Location: Birmingham - (Hybrid Working)
Projects: Birmingham - West Midlands
Contract: Ongoing Freelance Contract
Status: Outside IR35

We're working with a well-established main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Planner on an ongoing Outside IR35 contract to support a growing pipeline of work across the Midlands.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Construction Planner with a strong background in both pre-construction and project delivery. You'll be confident in producing detailed tender programmes, developing construction methodologies, preliminaries and logistics plans, while applying practical site delivery knowledge to ensure programmes are realistic, buildable and commercially robust.

The Role

Working closely with the Pre-Construction team, you'll play a key role in developing competitive tender submissions for projects ranging from £12m to £90m across the education, commercial and public realm sectors.

Key responsibilities will include:
