Job summary

Premium Linguistic Services (PLS) is seeking freelance Lithuanian interpreters to provide face-to-face interpreting in Glasgow and surrounding areas. You will attend appointments in person and interpret conversations accurately, clearly and impartially.

Fluency in English and Lithuanian, reliability, and a willingness to travel locally are essential. A formal interpreting qualification is not required, but a valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and right to work in the UK are mandatory.

Premium Linguistic Services (PLS) is looking for friendly, reliable and professional freelance interpreters to provide Face-to-Face interpreting services in [LOCATION] and surrounding areas.

Whether you are an experienced interpreter or looking to use your language skills professionally, we would be delighted to hear from you.

As a Freelance Face-to-Face Interpreter, you will help bridge language barriers by enabling clear communication between people who do not share the same language.

You will attend appointments in person and interpret conversations accurately, clearly and impartially.

Assignments may take place in a variety of professional and community settings, giving you the opportunity to meet different people and use your language skills where they are genuinely needed.

This is a flexible freelance role, so you can accept assignments based on your availability.

• Provide clear, accurate and impartial interpretation
• Attend Face-to-Face assignments at agreed locations and times
• Convey the meaning and tone of conversations as accurately as possible
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Remain impartial and maintain professional boundaries
• Communicate respectfully with everyone involved
• Be punctual, reliable and prepared for assignments
• Remain calm and professional, including during sensitive situations
• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

A formal interpreting qualification is not required.

We welcome both qualified and non-qualified applicants. Previous interpreting experience or a relevant qualification is an advantage, but it is not essential.

• Are confident communicating with people from different backgrounds
• Understand the importance of confidentiality and impartiality
• Are reliable, professional and punctual
• Can remain calm and focused in different situations
• Are willing and able to travel locally for assignments
• Have the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold a valid DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one – a valid DBS is mandatory and must be in place before undertaking any assignments with PLS.
