Job description

We are seeking experienced lecturers and industry experts specialising in contract law, intellectual property, and legal/ethical frameworks within the music and creative industries to join a great team of music professionals in a vibrant and supportive working environment at our Bristol Campus. This role focuses on delivering the Level 6 module Business Ethics & Music Law, enabling students to understand contractual agreements, legislation, ethical responsibilities and rights ownership within the music industry. There are opportunities for regular teaching from January 2026 as well as cover teaching/deputising and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis. BIMM provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching. If you already have a graduate or postgraduate qualification then this will be advantageous, but it's not a barrier.

Qualifications
  • A graduate or postgraduate qualification in Law, Music Business, Creative Industries, Cultural Policy or a related subject.
  • A graduate or postgraduate qualification in education is advantageous but not essential.
  • Significant teaching experience (at the higher education level is preferred but not essential).
  • Significant industry experience in music/entertainment law, such as contracts, rights management, licensing, publishing, dispute resolution, negotiation or commercial governance.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • A flexible approach to work.
