A leading food safety consulting agency is seeking a Freelance Food Safety & Brand Standard Auditor in Exeter. The role involves conducting evaluations and training for clients in the food service and hospitality sectors. Candidates should possess a L4 Food safety qualification, relevant experience, and hold a full clean driving licence. This position operates on an independent consulting basis, with responsibilities such as ensuring compliance with food safety standards and fostering strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct food safety, brand standards and workplace health and safety evaluations at client locations
• Consult, coach and train clients on the latest food safety, health, and hygiene practices
• Work with account management teams to resolve client challenges
• Perform a budgeted number of audits weekly that ensures high customer satisfaction
• Access and leverage industry leading food safety practices and ongoing, active monitoring of health inspection information
• Provide accurate reporting and ensure effective customer communication and relationships

Qualifications

• Have a L4 Food safety qualification
• Be based in or close to the territory
• Have own car/transport - Full clean driving licence
• Be available for weekdays, weekends or evenings
• Have auditing experience
• Have hospitality experience

Skills and Knowledge

• Food safety certifications preferred, such as HACCP, ISO22000, BRC or NEHA (RS, REHS or CP‑FS) credentials
• Retail food safety experience and reviews of brand standards
• Teaching or coaching experience in a food related field
• Strong relationship management and advanced consulting skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Able to work effectively without supervision, demonstrate initiative, common sense and superior decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines
