This position is offered under a freelance agreement, with an rate of £40 per hour. The freelancer will deliver an average of 1 x 45 min sessions with elders each week in a variety of community settings.
The Practitioner will work across Leicester and Leicestershire leading the delivery of creative activities with elders based in care homes and Age UK Memory cafes. The sessions will be dance / drama led and will draw inspiration from shows and activities linked to Curve. Planning for the sessions will be supported by our Community Practitioner. The session days / times will vary each week, suiting a practitioner with a flexible work schedule.
We are looking for experienced applicants with a strong track record of working with elders and delivering creative sessions in community settings. You will be a strong communicator, empathetic, energetic and passionate about the value of arts to enhance the quality of older people and those living with dementia. You will need a clear Enhanced DBS certificate, valid within 2 years and have safeguarding training.
