Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a high-profile data centre project in Slough. The role is freelance/contract with a day rate of around £500, offering an opportunity to lead the design from pre-construction through delivery.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, review information for programme and quality, and maintain design records while supporting procurement and client stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Manager on large-scale construction projects.
• Data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, and design coordination.
• Experience working with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process from pre-construction to delivery.
• Lead design team meetings and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Review design information to meet programme, quality, and project requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design packages and resolve technical issues.
• Monitor design progress against programme and identify risks or delays.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations, standards, and client specs.
• Support procurement through design reviews and technical input.
• Maintain accurate design records and manage design changes.
