Job summary

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council is seeking an Intelligence Officer to support Fraud Investigation Officers and the wider authority by delivering intelligence-led insight that strengthens proactive and reactive counter-fraud activity.

You will apply the intelligence cycle to information from internal and external sources, analyse data, produce intelligence products and manage information to evidential standards, in a hybrid working arrangement at Town Hall, Reigate.

Qualifications

• Experience handling information from multiple sources, ideally in fraud or enforcement.
• Ability to identify patterns, risks and explain findings clearly.
• Maintain accurate, auditable records supporting evidential standards.
• Understand information governance and data sharing laws.
• Able to share intelligence with internal and external partners lawfully.
• Good written reporting for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Apply the intelligence cycle to complex information from internal and external sources.
• Analyse information and produce intelligence products and management information.
• Support triage of fraud referrals and identify evidential risks.
• Ensure actions are recorded to evidential standards.
• Collaborate with enforcement bodies to share intelligence lawfully.
