Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Data Scientist (AVP level) to lead analytics initiatives, applying advanced data analytics and machine learning to inform decision making and drive operational excellence. You will work on fraud detection systems and large-scale data projects to extract insights and mitigate risk.

You will collaborate with business teams, develop predictive models, and contribute to the governance and control framework.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of fraud detection systems.
• Hands-on experience working with large and complex data sets.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in data.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
• Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop policies/procedures to support governance and controls.
