Job summary

South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority seeks a skilled transport professional to support franchised bus network planning, timetabling and service delivery. You will translate strategic designs into operable routes and schedules while using data to identify improvements and address punctuality challenges.

The role is based in Sheffield with a minimum of three days per week in the office, offering hybrid working and opportunities to influence passenger experience across the network.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning, network planning or service delivery within bus, rail or related sector.
• Ability to interpret timetables, scheduling and performance measures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making.
• Good written and verbal communication and ability to present technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of franchised bus network proposals.
• Translate designs into detailed routes, timetables, frequencies and stopping patterns.
• Develop and maintain timetables and service schedules that are efficient and deliverable.
• Monitor punctuality, reliability, patronage, capacity and other network performance measures.
• Analyse passenger demand and operations data to identify trends and improvements.
• Engage with operators and partners to ensure effective network delivery.
• Prepare reports and briefing material for governance and decision-making.
