INEOS Energy plc is seeking an FP&A Manager to oversee financial planning, forecasting and management reporting. You will partner with the CFO and business leaders to drive performance insights, support strategic initiatives, and ensure robust financial control across the organisation.

The role requires extensive experience in FP&A within a large international group, with strong modelling, data handling and stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience in a major international or matrixed group environment.
  • 5–7 years’ PQE across FP&A, commercial finance and/or business controlling roles.
  • Experience in reporting key drivers of profitability to stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing external financing facilities.
  • Energy sector experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, planning, forecasting, including cash forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Provide clear, concise performance reporting to EXCO and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business strategy with financial analysis and guidance to management.
  • Identify areas for financial performance improvement.
  • Support external financing processes pre- and post-implementation.
  • Coordinate consolidation of financial data for Board presentations.

Job description

At INEOS Energy, we produce and trade oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low-carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Examples include Project Greensand, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea, and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

The FP&A Manager will report directly to the Business Controller and will be responsible for overseeing all internal reporting across INEOS Energy.

The FP&A Manager plays a key leadership role within the Finance function and is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis and management reporting across INEOS Energy, providing senior leadership with insight to support strategic and operational decisions.

Working closely with the Business Controller, CFO and business leaders, the FP&A Manager leads planning and reporting, improves visibility of financial performance, supports growth initiatives and promotes financial accountability across the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
INEOS Energy UK
  • Lead the budgeting, planning, forecasting, including cash forecasting, and actual performance analysis for the business, in line with internal and group timetables.
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate performance reporting to EXCO, the management team and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business strategy by providing analysis and interpretation of financials, as well as guidance and support to members of the management team.
  • Identify areas for financial performance improvement.
  • Provide financial control over development projects, such as improvement projects, field developments and exploration, to deliver strategic business targets.
  • Support new and existing external financing processes, both pre- and post-implementation.
INEOS Energy Group
  • Lead the planning, forecasting, including cash forecasting, and actual performance analysis for the Central function, in line with internal and group timetables.
  • Oversee, prepare and review the consolidation of financial data from the regions, ready for Board presentations and group submission.
  • Coordinate INEOS Energy-wide processes, including the annual budget process, monthly management reporting and cash forecasting, to ensure timely, consistent, complete and accurate financial analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate and review ad hoc analyses as requested by the Group and the INEOS Energy Board.
Other
  • Support the Business Controller and CFO on M&A activity as required.
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance as needed.
Line Management
  • Lead, coach and develop the FP&A team, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manage resources and priorities to deliver Finance objectives, process improvements, systems development and reporting automation.
  • Deputise for the Business Controller when required.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Education
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
  • Extensive experience in a major international or matrixed group environment and/or an international accounting firm.
  • Ideally 5–7 years’ PQE across FP&A, commercial finance and/or business controlling roles.
  • Can demonstrate experience in reporting key drivers of profitability to stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading / managing cost control initiatives.
  • Experience in managing external financing facilities.
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business transformation programmes.
  • Experience of the energy sector, natural resources, industrials or other asset-intensive industries is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in managing and developing finance professionals.
Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of oil and gas including E&A, development, production and decommissioning lifecycle.
  • Ability to handle significant volumes of data, use complex modelling tools and present outcomes simply and concisely.
  • Strong IT, literacy and numerical skills.
