Job summary

InvestEngine is seeking an FP&A Manager to join our Finance team in London. You’ll own budget, forecasts and management reporting, building driver‑based models that link growth to P&L, cash and capital.

You’ll convert numbers into clear insights to support faster, better‑informed decisions. You’ll report to Marc de Gentile-Williams and collaborate with budget holders across Product, Marketing, Operations, Technology and Risk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of FP&A, management accounting or commercial finance experience.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills to build driver-based models from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the monthly management accounts and MI pack with variance commentary.
• Build and own a driver-based three-statement model (P&L, balance sheet, cash).
• Run rolling quarterly reforecast and improve forecast accuracy.
• Lead the annual budget and business plan process with budget holders.
• Produce a 13-week cash forecast and monthly runway view for ICARA and going-concern assessments.
• Prepare Board and committee finance packs with KPI dashboards.

About the Role

We’re looking for an FP&A Manager to join our Finance team.

Your mission is to give our leadership team and Board a reliable, forward‑looking view of InvestEngine’s financial performance. You’ll own the budget, forecasts and management reporting, build robust Excel models that link our growth drivers to P&L, cash and capital, and turn the numbers into clear insight that helps us make faster, better‑informed decisions.

You’ll report to Marc de Gentile-Williams and work with budget holders across Product, Marketing, Operations, Technology and Risk.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver the monthly management accounts and MI pack, with clear budget vs actual variance commentary

• Build and own a single, documented, driver‑based three‑statement model (P&L, balance sheet and cash) that reconciles to actuals in Xero

• Run the rolling quarterly reforecast and improve forecast accuracy over time

• Lead the annual budget and business plan process, working with budget holders to agree and sign off their numbers

• Produce a 13‑week cash forecast and monthly runway view, and provide inputs to ICARA and going-concern assessments

• Prepare Board and committee finance packs, including a KPI dashboard covering AUA, revenue, CAC, unit economics and cost per client

• Reduce manual reporting effort through better templates, Xero integration and automation

What We’re Looking For

• Ideally 5+ years in FP&A, management accounting or commercial finance

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills — you build clear, error‑free, driver‑based models from scratch (XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, dynamic arrays, pivot tables, Power Query)

• Hands‑on experience running budget and reforecast cycles and explaining variances in terms of business drivers

• The ability to turn analysis into concise recommendations for non‑finance leaders and the Board

• A strong accuracy and control mindset: checks, reconciliations, documented assumptions and version control

• Confidence partnering with and challenging budget holders across the business

• English fluency at C1 level or above — we are a UK‑based company and the role involves regular communication across the business

Nice to Have

• Experience with Xero (or strong experience with comparable systems)

• Experience in financial services, fintech or an investment platform

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA (qualified or part‑qualified)
