And want to get a real feel for JAAQ? Look no further…

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a go-getting Founding Product Designer/Researcher who thrives in ambiguity and loves building things from scratch. Someone who sees problems early, shapes direction quickly, and leads design with confidence and clarity.

You’ll be joining a small but mighty product & design team working across JAAQ’s entire product ecosystem — from consumer experiences, to enterprise tools, to creator workflows, to our SDK. As a founding designer, you’ll define how design works at JAAQ, influence how the team grows, and set the bar for craft, systems, safety, and innovation across multiple products.

If you’re excited by a blank canvas, by the challenge of unifying multiple products, and by designing at the intersection of AI, mental health, and scalable systems — you’ll thrive here.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • 5+ years of hands‑on UX design and research experience across SaaS, platforms, or data‑rich products.
  • Strong end‑to‑end product design skills — from discovery to high‑fidelity prototypes.
  • Experience building reusable systems, component libraries, or SDKs.
  • A passion for designing safe, ethical, explainable AI experiences.
  • Confidence operating autonomously in early‑stage environments — you bring structure, not wait for it.
  • A collaborative, communicative approach that aligns Product, Engineering, Content, and Clinical teams.
What you’ll be doing day to day

As our Founding Product Designer/Researcher, you’ll have full ownership of design and research across JAAQ’s entire portfolio — shaping how millions of people, partners, clinicians, and creators experience the JAAQ platform.

  • Lead discovery and research: design research plans, run interviews, test prototypes, and drive insights that shape product direction.
  • Design end‑to‑end experiences: craft flows, wireframes, and high‑fidelity prototypes across web, app, SDK, and dashboard surfaces.
  • Create scalable systems: build a unified design system and component library used across multiple JAAQ products.
  • Define structure and patterns: own IA, navigation, and cross‑product interaction patterns that make JAAQ feel coherent and intuitive.
  • Translate complexity into clarity: work with AI and clinical teams to turn sensitive and technically complex concepts into experiences that feel safe, human, and empowering.
  • Shape how design leads at JAAQ: run workshops, facilitate alignment, and ensure insights and user value sit at the centre of our roadmap.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in Technology, Sales, Marketing: contribute to strategic discussions that influence our Company strategy & Product roadmap

You’ll be the architect of the user experience across the entire JAAQ platform, influencing not just what we build — but how we build, scale, and design for mental health at a global level.

Why Join JAAQ?
  • Be part of a mission‑driven organisation making a tangible difference in mental health accessibility.
  • Collaborate with a passionate, innovative, and supportive team.
  • Opportunity to shape the content landscape of a rapidly growing platform.
  • Competitive compensation, outstanding benefits package and equity options - a chance to own the future of JAAQ.
  • Private Medical Healthcare / Gym Membership / Professional Development Budget
  • Breather Days (for when you need to take time out at short notice to rest and recoup)

JAAQ is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
