Overview

Sekkari is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Silicon Photonics Integrated Circuit (IC) Engineer to play a crucial role in the design and simulation of our cutting‑edge silicon photonics circuits. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions that will redefine the capabilities of autonomous systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of silicon photonics principles and hands‑on experience with industry‑standard EDA tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate silicon photonics integrated circuits, encompassing both passive and active components
  • Utilise advanced EDA tools, like Ansys, for comprehensive circuit design and layout
  • Conduct rigorous optical and electrical simulations to verify circuit performance, optimise designs, and ensure manufacturability
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including process engineers and test engineers, to ensure seamless design integration and successful product realisation
  • Stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving silicon photonics technology landscape and continuously explore new design tools and techniques
  • Document detailed design specifications, simulation results, and comprehensive test plans
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a closely related technical field
  • Proven experience in the design and simulation of silicon photonics integrated circuits is essential
  • Proficiency with Ansys for optical design, or other similar design software is required
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of optical wave propagation, semiconductor physics, and integrated circuit design principles
  • Experience with photonic device characterization and testing is a valuable asset
  • Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive both independently and as a collaborative team member in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to articulate complex technical concepts effectively
