Job summary

Dex is assisting a stealth-mode AI company seeking a Founding Senior Engineer in London. You will own the end-to-end delivery of core product features, designing the desktop app and backend systems, and collaborating with AI researchers to ship robust, scalable software.

This role requires 5+ years building complex systems, strong proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Rust, or C++, and willingness to work in person five days a week at Elephant and Castle.

Qualifications

• PhD or ownership of a hard technical project end-to-end.
• 5+ years building comparable systems in academic or industrial settings.
• Proficiency in TS, Python, Rust or C++, with Rust emphasized.
• Experience owning the full engineering lifecycle: shipping products from user requests.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and databases, autonomous work style.
• Willingness to work in person five days a week in Elephant and Castle, London.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the desktop application (front and back end) for a proactive AI assistant.
• Develop and maintain backend systems that ingest and keep a live, persistent model of user data.
• Implement core algorithms bridging the AI research layer and the user-facing product.
• Drive end-to-end feature development from user requests to shipping robust products.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to translate research into production-ready systems.
