Overview

Are you an experienced Fostering Social Worker or a Children's Social Worker looking for an opportunity to step into Fostering? We are working with a private fostering agency with a base in Sittingbourne and Chatham, covering London, Essex and Kent.

The Role

We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Fostering Social Worker to provide supervision, guidance, and support to foster parents, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in their care. You will build strong relationships with foster families, conduct home visits, attend reviews, and work closely with local authorities and other professionals to promote stability and positive outcomes. We welcome both experienced Fostering Social Workers and Children's Social Workers with transferable skills who are interested in developing their expertise in fostering.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a manageable caseload of foster parents.
• Conduct regular visits and complete high-quality records and reports.
• Provide professional guidance and emotional support to foster parents.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, local authorities, and other agencies.
• Promote placement stability and foster parent retention through proactive engagement.
• Contribute to training, reviews, and the matching process for new placements.

About You

• Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in fostering or children's social work.
• Full UK driving licence and use of a car.
• Location: Hybrid - Offices in Sittingbourne & Chatham (1 day a week in the office, plus training and meetings).
• 29 days annual leave.
