Job summary

Wiltshire Council is recruiting a Recruitment Support Worker to help recruit foster carers across the Southwest. The role involves being the first point of contact from enquiry, guiding candidates through initial steps and assessing suitability.

You will work within our regional Fostering Hub, ensuring safeguarding and compliance while supporting carers to move forward in the fostering pathway.

Qualifications

  • Educated to at least NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of policies and procedures regarding children in care.
  • Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults is a priority.
  • Well-organised, adaptable under pressure and an excellent communicator.

Salary: £29,064 - £31,022 pro rata

Hours per week: 22.2 hours

Temporary/Fixed term: end of March 2027

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children across theSouthwest? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our regional Fostering Hub to enhance the experience of prospective foster carers and increase the number of foster carers across the region.

As a Recruitment Support Worker, you will help more children find safe, stable and nurturing homes by supporting the recruitment of foster carers across the Southwest. Working within our regional fostering hub, you will engage with prospective carers from their first enquiry and help them take the next steps towards fostering.

You will be the first point of contact for individuals interested in becoming foster carers, providing them with necessaryinformationand conducting initial assessments of their suitability.

We are looking for candidates who are educated to at least an NVQ Level 4 or equivalentexperience, possessa deep understanding of relevant policies and proceduresregardingchildren in care and prioritise the importance of safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Essential qualities for success in this role include being well-organised, adaptable under pressure and an excellent communicator.
