Job summary

Ocho People Ltd. is seeking a Senior AI Forward Deployed Engineer who embeds directly with enterprise clients in the insurance sector to design, build and ship AI solutions that address complex business problems.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Embed directly with customer teams to understand objectives and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout each engagement.
• Design, build and ship production-grade AI solutions that solve complex customer challenges while remaining deeply hands-on with implementation.
• Lead rapid prototyping and iterative solution development, translating customer feedback into scalable solutions.
• Lead discovery, assessment and solution planning activities, translating business needs directly into technical implementation.
• Own the end-to-end solution lifecycle including design, development, deployment, adoption and value realisation.
• Work within each customer's existing tech stack, data and infrastructure constraints rather than idealised environments.
• Build trusted relationships with technical, business and executive stakeholders across each engagement.
• Identify recurring customer needs, product gaps and emerging opportunities to influence platform evolution and future product direction.
• Develop reusable code assets, delivery accelerators, methodologies and best practices to enhance delivery effectiveness.
• Mentor and develop engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, coaching and knowledge sharing

The Role

This is a Senior AI Forward Deployed Engineer position where you embed directly with enterprise clients in the insurance sector to design, build and ship AI solutions that solve complex business problems. You will provide technical leadership across engagements while remaining hands-on with implementation throughout - this is not an advisory or architecture-only role. You will rapidly prototype and iterate in close partnership with end users, adapt solutions to real-world enterprise constraints and feed what you learn on the ground back to shape wider product and delivery direction. What You'll Need

Essential:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, customer engineering, consulting or related technology disciplines
• Proven track record of architecting, building and deploying production-grade software solutions at enterprise scale with direct hands-on involvement
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language used in AI delivery - Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java or similar
• Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and/or GCP, APIs, integration patterns and automation
• Strong practical knowledge of AI, machine learning, agentic AI and intelligent automation concepts and enterprise AI deployment patterns
• Advanced experience working directly with enterprise customers in embedded, customer-facing environments
• Deep experience within insurance and/or other regulated industries - underwriting, claims, policy administration, fraud, pricing or risk management
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where requirements evolve as solutions are built
• Strong consulting, stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across executive, technical and operational groups
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline

Desirable / Nice to Have:

• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, AI, solution architecture or agile delivery
• Experience across multiple insurance domains - not just one functional area
