LinuxRecruit is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to join a small team. You will work across AI, backend systems, integrations and data to turn complex business problems into working software. This hands-on role rewards ownership, fast learning, and a stake in the company as the product evolves.
You will ship AI-powered systems, collaborate with senior leadership, and own significant technical decisions in a lean, high-growth environment. Equity is offered as part of the package.
There are a lot of AI startups out there right now, all claiming they're doing something different. But how many are actually building technology that businesses genuinely need?
This company is taking an interesting approach to that.
They're focused on industries where people are still spending ridiculous amounts of time working through documents, managing spreadsheets, processing emails and dealing with admin that really shouldn't need so much human involvement.
The aim is to change that by building AI powered systems that take on the repetitive work and make these processes far more efficient. And that's where you come in. They're looking for a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to join a small engineering team and help turn some pretty complicated business problems into working software.
You will be getting close to the problems themselves, understanding how things currently work and figuring out where AI can actually make a difference. It's a hands on engineering role, where you'll be working across AI, backend systems, integrations, data and whatever else is needed to get something working. There won't always be a clear brief or someone telling you exactly how to approach a problem, so you'll need to be comfortable figuring things out for yourself.
The good thing is, you'll actually get to see what happens when your work goes live. You're not spending months building something without knowing whether it's going to be useful.
It's still early days, but there's a clear plan for where they want to take the business, along with the investment and backing to make it happen.
The engineering team is small, which means you'll be working closely with senior technical leadership, having a say in how things are built and taking on far more responsibility than you would in a larger company.
There's also meaningful equity on offer, so you'll have a stake in what you're helping to create. It's not going to suit everyone. There's a lot to figure out, things will change quickly and some weeks will be pretty demanding. But if you like the idea of joining something early, getting stuck into difficult engineering problems and having the freedom to build things your way, there's a lot to like here.
You don't need to have 'Forward Deployed Engineer' on your CV. What's more important is that you enjoy getting close to the problem, working out what needs building and then actually building it.
