Job summary

First Base Employment is seeking a Forklift Operative for a busy distribution centre in Sharpness. The role offers Monday to Friday hours (8:00am–4:00pm) and £14.65 per hour, with a full-time opportunity and potential to go permanent after a successful temporary period.

The successful candidate will hold a valid Counterbalance and/or Bendi licence, have warehouse experience, and possess good communication skills in English. Own transport is preferred due to the location.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance and/or Bendi forklift licence.
• Previous forklift and warehouse experience.
• Good communication and a good command of English.
• Safety boots and a high-visibility vest (can be provided if required).
• Own transport due to the location.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Placing goods into designated storage locations.
• Picking customer orders accurately.
• Operating Counterbalance and/or Bendi forklift trucks.
• Using RF scanners to process stock movements.
• Carrying out manual handling duties, including lifting items up to 25kg.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
