Job summary

Hevey Building Supplies is seeking a Forklift Truck Driver to join the yard team at our Moulton Park branch, a fast-paced role that keeps customers, suppliers and colleagues moving.

You will operate a forklift safely, load and unload vehicles, assist on site and with deliveries, and help maintain a clean, organised yard with high safety standards.

This full-time position offers long-term security within a long-established, family-run business that is part of Lords Group Trading.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift licence and experience operating a forklift.
• Experience in a builders’ merchant environment.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Physically fit and able to do manual handling.
• Good communication and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of safety procedures.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a forklift to pick, load and unload vehicles.
• Assisting customers, suppliers and delivery drivers on site.
• Picking orders manually and handling heavy materials as required.
• Occasionally making deliveries in a 3.5t dropside vehicle.
• Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe with high standards of presentation.
• Managing stock rotation and highlighting shortages or issues.
• Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery and reporting defects or H&S concerns.
• Working closely with the wider yard team to maintain an efficient operation.
