Overview

Job Title: Forklift Driver/Driving Operative

Contract: Permanent • Full Time • 40 hours per week

Hourly Rate: £16.85

Location: Recycling Centre, New Covent Garden Market, Nine Elms, London, Greater London, England, SW8 5PA

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:00pm

Requirement: Full UK Driving License and Valid Counter Balance forklift Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Undertake driving duties in a health and safety conscious environment, loading pallet trailers and handling card and plastic bales.
• Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and monitor the performance of equipment.
• Provide support to the waste team and follow PPE guidance.
• Carry out outdoor operations including collecting tenant waste for recycling, sweeping, lifting and sorting waste into different streams for processing.
• Participate in cleaning duties as needed (public toilets, offices, light grounds maintenance, car park deep cleans, ad hoc tasks).
• Maintain a professional demeanor, work to schedules, and contribute to continuous improvements in service delivery.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Current Counter Balance FLT license with active experience driving trucks.
• Valid UK Driving Licence (or in-date EU Driving Licence) — all licences checked by the vetting team.
• Strong written and spoken English, attention to detail, and good time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
• Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team.
• DBS Check and drugs/alcohol screening prior to starting.
• Willingness to work outdoors and perform duties as required by the role.
