Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an operator/setter at its Leicester site to work on hot forging and related processes. The role includes operating machines, maintaining tolerances, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within a safety-conscious environment.

Compensation reflects an hourly rate with shift allowance, and a comprehensive benefits package. You will be part of a team focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous development at Meridian Business Park.

Qualifications

• Experience in hot forging and operating related machinery.
• Experience on hot press, slitter, and shot blasting.
• Power press training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Experienced in Hot Forging.
• Set and operate machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances.
• Support in the production areas in the slitting and shot blasting.
• Train on all machines to ensure flexibility in the workplace.
• Use gauges and measuring equipment to ensure products meet specifications.
• Ensure all records and paperwork are accurate and up to date.
• Produce SPC charts and records.
• Participate in continuous improvement teams.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Adhere to quality procedures and EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

£15.85 operator level inclusive of 15% shift allowance to Setter Operator £17.61 per hour including shift allowance - Competitive Hourly Rate - skill level dependent and ongoing development through Grading Structure.

Prime Location: Leicester, Meridian Business Park, Excellent Working Conditions, Parking

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 6 am to 2.30 pm, Friday 6 am to 11.30 am. 15 minute paid break and 30 minute unpaid break. Excellent canteen facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Experienced in Hot Forging
• Set and operate machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances
• Supporting in the production areas in the slitting and shot blasting
• Undertake to train on all machines to ensure 100% flexibility in the workplace
• Uses gauges and measuring equipment to ensure product meets required specifications
• Self certification of your personal work
• Keep all computer files and manual paperwork accurate and up to date at all times
• Responsible for producing SPC charts and records
• To actively take part in locally focused, or multi-functional continuous improvement teams
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained to the highest standards
• Ensure all quality procedures are adhered to
• Work as fully flexible team member within the Company to maximise levels of production and quality
• To adhere to all company EHS requirements and actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards.
