Job description

Adept Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and safety-focused Forge Crane and Despatch Operator to join their GFM department.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in crane operation, slinging, material handling or despatch within a heavy industrial or forge environment.

  • Basic Salary: £28,879

  • Shift Allowance: +10%

  • Total Annual Earnings: £31,767

  • Shift Pattern: Alternating weekly shifts (Monday-Friday)

    • 6am-2pm (Mornings)

    • 2pm-10pm (Afternoon)

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating overhead cab cranes and pendant/remote cranes in the forge and heat treatment areas.
  • Performing slinging duties to move materials safely.
  • Loading and unloading materials using cranes and FLT.
  • Handling despatch of materials with correct documentation.
  • Conducting receipt inspection of incoming goods and completing inspection paperwork for subcontract items.
  • Entering data into the SFDC system.
  • Supporting heat treatment operations within the GFM.
  • Performing pre-shift crane checks and generating STOP cards.
  • General housekeeping and contributing to 5S improvement activities.
Skills & Experience
  • 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience in crane operation, slinging or heavy manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of safety processes and quality standards.
  • Experience with improvement activities or process management.
