Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking qualified nurses or paramedics to support detainees in custody settings across the region. Training will be provided to develop forensic and clinical skills, with 24/7 service coverage and a supportive team.

You will work alongside Police custody colleagues to deliver high-quality healthcare, with access to pension, benefits, and career progression opportunities. Driving licence and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role in relevant field: General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, etc.
• RN, RGN or RMN with dual registration (Band 5 minimum) or Paramedic with 2 years post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert healthcare to detainees within Police Custody Suites.
• Work across your base Custody Suite and designated region within the Police Custody Suite network.
• Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, treatment, and transfer decisions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
