Job summary

Mountain Healthcare is recruiting Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals to deliver high-quality healthcare to detainees in Abingdon Custody Suite, working autonomously in a fast-paced environment and supporting complex physical and mental health needs.

You will assess, treat and support detainees, using clinical judgment to safeguard welfare and influence outcomes. Accredited training and a structured development programme are provided to help you succeed in this specialist field.

Qualifications

• RN with valid NMC registration or Paramedic with HCPC registration.
• Minimum three years post-qualification experience in acute or urgent care.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
• Ability to obtain enhanced DBS clearance and police vetting.

Responsibilities

• Clinical and capacity assessments.
• Managing acute healthcare needs and emergencies.
• Supporting mental health, safeguarding and substance misuse needs.
• Collecting and documenting forensic evidence.
• Providing professional statements and court attendance when required.
• Working with police, NHS and partner agencies.
