Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Foreman to work on new project in Sheffield You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure all activities are compliant with the Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Site productivity and delivery.
  • Implement all instructions received from Project, Safety Managers and Clients.
  • Organisation, allocation and control of site operatives including but not restricted to: Direct labour, sub contract labour, plant operators.
  • Delivery of allocated work packages in accordance with safety, quality, technical, planning and budgetary requirements.
  • Weekly reporting of all contractual site activities in accordance with TTF folder instructions.
  • Accident and incident reporting and investigation.
  • Safety Inspections and reporting.
  • Undertake any necessary training.
  • Maintain good site discipline.
  • Identify staff training needs.
  • Be of a presentable appearance commensurate with allocated duties at all times.
  • Lead and direct by example.
  • Deputise for the Supervisor/Senior Foreman/Foreman as and when required
  • Promote the awareness of VolkerRail in a positive manner at all times.
  • Ensure site noise is kept to a minimum and disruption to the railway's neighbours is kept to a minimum.
  • To alert Senior Management to any non-conformance or deficiency in quality, materials, services or workmanship.
  • Liaison and communication with VolkerRail staff and contractors plus all relevant external contacts as required in order to discharge the duties and responsibilities of this JD/SRS.
  • The discharge of these safety critical duties and responsibilities within this JD/SRS and any other safety critical competencies are mandatory upon the post holder. Metro and Rail Projects (MRP) have extensive experience of working on high profile projects for most of the UK's light rail and tram operators and on the UK heavy rail network.
