Job summary

A construction and civil engineering contractor is seeking a Foreman based in Devon to manage a bulk earthworks package for a commercial development. The ideal candidate will have the necessary qualifications and experience in site management, compliance with health and safety, and effective communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to work nationwide in both civil and build sectors.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent required.
• CSCS - Gold/Black certification mandatory.
• SMSTS and First Aid certifications necessary.
• Experience in bulk earthworks and muck shifting preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant, labour, and materials.
• Conduct daily briefings with the team.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Inspect plant and machinery regularly.
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors.

Foreman responsibilities

• Working alongside and reporting to the project manager.
• Managing plant, labour and materials.
• Daily briefings.
• Record keeping.
• Managing health and safety.
• Plant and machinery inspections.
• Liaising with the client, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

Foreman requirements

• Right to work in the UK.
• NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• CSCS - Gold/ Black.
• SMSTS.
• First aid.
• Fire marshal.
• Previous experience with bulk earthworks and muck shifting.
• Full UK driving licence.
