A community-focused charity in Richmond seeks a Foodbank Manager to lead foodbank services across multiple sites. The successful candidate will provide operational oversight, support volunteers, and ensure a dignified experience for guests facing crisis. Responsibilities include overseeing foodbank sessions, developing a new Community Essentials Hub, and building partnerships with local organizations. Strong organizational and leadership skills are essential, alongside a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals.
A people-focused leadership role overseeing foodbank services across multiple local sites, supporting volunteers and ensuring a welcoming, dignified experience for people facing crisis.
Vineyard Community & Richmond Foodbank (VC&RFB) is a Christian charity supporting individuals and families across the Borough of Richmond who are facing food poverty, homelessness, isolation, mental ill-health, and other forms of crisis. Rooted in compassion, dignity, and hope, the charity provides both immediate practical help and longer-term relational support to help people move forward.
They are seeking a Foodbank Manager to lead their foodbank provision across multiple local sites. This is a significant leadership role at the heart of their mission and is often the first point of contact for people at some of the most challenging moments of their lives. The postholder will ensure a consistently warm, welcoming, and dignifying experience for every guest, while providing strong leadership to staff and volunteers.
The role combines operational oversight with people-focused leadership. You will oversee foodbank sessions across the borough, support and supervise the Assistant Foodbank Manager, Satellite Foodbank Leaders and volunteer teams, and work closely with colleagues across the wider organisation. Building strong relationships with referral partners, churches, schools, businesses, and community groups is a key part of the role, as is representing the foodbank positively within the local community.
A particularly exciting element of this post is leading the development and launch of a new Community Essentials Hub. This initiative will expand VC&RFB’s support beyond emergency food, offering low-cost food and essential items alongside wider opportunities for connection, participation, and volunteering. You will help shape this new model, establish effective systems, and develop partnerships with other organisations working in this space.
VC&RFB are looking for someone with strong organisational and relationship-building skills, experience of leading staff and/or volunteers, and a genuine heart for supporting people facing vulnerability or crisis. In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, this role has a genuine occupational requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian.
The closing date for applications is Thursday 22 January 2026.
