The Role
A vibrant and forward-looking secondary school in North Manchester is seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their Design & Technology department. You will teach Food Technology (and potentially other D&T specialisms) across KS3 and KS4, preparing students for GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition and inspiring young people through practical, creative, safe and high-quality lessons.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, well-planned Food Technology lessons that meet curriculum aims and examination specifications
Lead and support students in practical work, ensuring high standards of health & safety and food hygiene
Assess, track and report student progress, providing feedback and support where required
Collaborate with the D&T department and wider school staff to contribute to development of schemes of work and resources
Promote positive behaviour, independence, respect and enthusiasm for learning
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
Proven experience teaching Food Technology / Food Preparation & Nutrition at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical teaching in Food Technology
Ability to manage a practical classroom environment safely and effectively
Effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
Commitment to supporting students of all abilities and promoting high standards
Experience of GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition assessment
Experience of department or curriculum leadership within D&T
Food Hygiene certificate / Level 2 or above
