Design & Technology (Food) Teacher - January Start - Uxbridge, London

A dynamic and high-achieving secondary school based in Uxbridge is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Food Technology Teacher to join their thriving Design & Technology department from January on a long-term basis. This is a full-time position, though the school would consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate. Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, and the role is paid in line with Outer London MPS/UPS pay scales. Role Responsibilities - Food Technology Teacher
  • Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring a balance of theory and hands-on learning.
  • Plan and assess lessons in line with national curriculum standards, encouraging creativity and technical skill development.
  • Inspire students to understand nutrition, food preparation, sustainability, and the importance of healthy eating.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, ensuring all health and safety protocols are met.
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the D&T department and support extracurricular activities where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Qualifications and Person Specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
