Food Tech/Catering Teacher — Canvey Island

£150-£225 per day PAYE

The School and Role

We are seeking a hardworking and creative Food Tech Teacher to join a progressive secondary school in September. The successful Food Tech Teacher will join a forward-thinking team in a school that is part of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust. High expectations are set for all students, and the school is committed to removing barriers to learning.

This is a Food Tech Teacher position on a temp-to-perm basis. After an initial 18-week period, the school intends to offer the Food Tech Teacher a permanent contract.

Qualified Teacher Status is not required for this role, as the school is looking to appoint a Food Tech Teacher who will grow and adapt with the school. As the Food Tech Teacher, you will be fully supported by the DT Technician, who will be in classes to help with classroom management and equipment. It will be your role as the Food Tech Teacher to plan, prepare and deliver lessons in Food Tech and Catering up to GCSE. You will also be responsible for behaviour management and safeguarding.

Requirements
  • Plan, deliver and teach Food Tech and Catering lessons and sequences at both KS3 and KS4.
  • Ensure that all students make progress through monitoring and supporting individual children and teaching groups.
  • Promote and support the inclusion of students, including those with specific needs.
  • Have effective communication skills, be reliable and hardworking individual.
