Our welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Newham is seeking a motivated and organised Food Technician to join our vibrant Design & Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting students in developing essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for Food Technology lessons
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in teaching kitchens
  • Order, check, and store food supplies efficiently
  • Support students during practical lessons, helping them develop confidence and skill
  • Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Carry out routine maintenance and checks on equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the department and wider school activities
About You
  • Well-organised, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Confident working in a kitchen or food-based environment (school experience helpful but not essential)
  • Knowledgeable about food hygiene and safety practices (training can be provided)
