Job summary

Luminate Education Group is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join the catering team at Park Lane Campus, Leeds. You will help with food preparation, service, hygiene and day-to-day café operations, delivering high-quality customer service to students, staff and visitors.

The position runs 20 hours per week over 37 weeks, offering an annual salary of £11,814.08 and an hourly rate of £13.45. A level 2 food hygiene certificate is preferred or obtainable, with flexible and supportive working

Qualifications

• Hold a level 2 food hygiene certificate or be willing to work toward getting it
• Experience working in a busy customer-focused environment, including operating tills and handling cash and card transactions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to use initiative, provide excellent customer service, and identify opportunities to promote products and services

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef Manager in food preparation.
• Stock & clean food display
• Use of an EPOS till.
• Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the café and cooking areas, including washing up and cleaning of equipment.
• Ensure food safety requirements are adhered to at all times and all due diligence records are completed accurately.
• Be prepared to work within any of the Colleges outlets.
• Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
