Sodexo is hiring a Food Service Assistant at Edinburgh Academy Junior School for term-time duties, Monday to Friday, 37 weeks per year. The role offers a permanent contract with full training and a supportive team in a welcoming school environment.

You'll work during school hours, enjoy a great work‑life balance, and have holidays during school breaks. No extensive catering experience is required as training is provided to help you succeed.

Responsabilités

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and beverages.
• Provide friendly, welcoming and efficient service.
• Replenish food, equipment and service areas to keep everything running smoothly.
• Help maintain clean, safe and well-organised kitchen and dining areas.
• Support deliveries and ensure supplies are stored appropriately.
• Complete required checks and records, including food temperatures and cleaning schedules.
• Follow food hygiene, allergen, health and safety procedures.
• Assist with catering for school functions when required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high standards of service.

Food Service Assistant – Edinburgh Academy Junior School

• Pay: £12.71 per hour
• Hours:20 & 25 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Monday–Friday
• Shifts: 10.00-2pm & 9.30-2.30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only – 37 weeks per year (This operates on equated pay - you're paid over 52 weeks of the year).
Additional Information: Occasionalevening and weekend work depending on business needs (these are scheduled to your rota in advance)

What you'll do

As a Food Service Assistant, you'll help make every mealtime a positive experience.

Working as part of a supportive team, you'll:

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and beverages.
• Provide a friendly, welcoming and efficient service.
• Replenish food, equipment and service areas to keep everything running smoothly.
• Help maintain clean, safe and well-organised kitchen and dining areas.
• Support deliveries and ensure supplies are stored appropriately.
• Complete required checks and records, including food temperatures, delivery temperatures and cleaning schedules.
• Follow food hygiene, allergen, health and safety procedures.
• Assist with the set-up, service and clearing of catering for school functions when required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a consistently high standard of service.
